On Saturday 21st September TST held their Desks versus Machines Football Match at the Dale Club, Jacksdale. It was a scorching afternoon with temperatures up in the 30’s, not ideal for 22 men to be running around a football pitch!
The match certainly served up plenty entertainment, with end to end action throughout and 9 goals for the watching fans to enjoy! The impressive Machines team ran out 7-2 winners in the end, with star man Sam Jones keeping out the goals but the Desks team fought to the end even though their potential goal scorer was impeded.
Due to the heat, it was a relief when the ref’s whistle blew, ending a thoroughly entertaining encounter. The unshakable Machines side were comfortable winners in the end, but the Desks team fought hard throughout the 90mins and could be proud of their efforts.
At the post match round up Chris Bagshaw, Desks Team Manager reported that he was disappointed that the promised goal from Desk Captain Rick Foley didn’t materialise but overall, he was happy with how everyone had played.
